Meet our Accessories Manager, Geir Peterson

Meet our Accessories Manager, and September Employee of the Month, Geir Peterson! 

Geir has worked in our building since the summer of 2021, when he started as a detail specialist. With a lot of hard work and dedication to his new job, he was quickly promoted to Lot Manager 4 months later. Two months after that, he started training to become the Accessories Manager, and has held this position since January 2022.  

What is your favorite thing about working at Mosaic? 

My favorite thing would definitely be the people surrounding me. Majority of the people here have years of experience in the industry and I did my best to keep an open ear so I could learn as much as I could while I was still a noob in the detail bay. Being that we are a very process oriented organization, it made the transition to Accessory Manager smooth. 

As you continue your career with Mosaic, what are you most excited about? 

I'm excited to see how this department continues to evolve. I'm looking forward to becoming a leader within the organization and setting a new standard for customer care in accessories. I want to compete with shops that specialize in accessories, and eventually win the business of all the locals because of our individualized customer service and work. I want to revolutionize how customers shop for accessories by making it fun and interactive, instead of stressful.

What has Mosaic done for you? 

I am thankful for the opportunities they've given me, as well as having the trust to put me in such an important and impactful position. I am also genuinely thankful for my coworkers' support as I was going through some difficult times last year. They showed support and didn't put me down for needing some time to work through some things. We spend a lot of time together and it feels like a second family with the amount of time we spend with each other. I've also grown so much in the past 2 years and although the growth can be draining, it brings me joy to be able to assist my salesmen and our customers. 

What was it like starting the Accessories Department at Mosaic? 

Starting the Accessories Department was nerve wracking at first. After a few months of testing different strategies, I was finally able to figure out the best way to run the department to make it successful. Now, I have been able to tap into my creative side, to add some flair to new projects and give suggestions to help our customers create their dream vehicles.

What is your favorite thing about the automotive industry? 

I would say my favorite thing about the automotive industry would be the access to all kinds of different cars. In my 2 years working here, I have purchased 4 vehicles, 2 of which were on my dream car list. The first was a 2010 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. The next was a 2012 Volkswagen Golf R. I also had purchased my ultimate dream car, a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX back in 2021, before starting here and it sat for over 2 years before I had one of our techs fix a few things with the motor and get it running for me. Funny enough, I was able to drive it for the first time on my birthday this year! Notice a trend...these cars are all AWD vehicles with turbos haha. I've learned a lot about cars and even gained enough confidence to do a few small jobs myself.

What are you excited about for the growth of Mosaic? 

I'm excited to take the processes we, as a team, have developed and implemented into our dealership and bring them to other stores when it comes time to expand. I'm also looking forward to the journey of training my successor as well as improving overall scheduling time by having a department tech whose main priority is installing accessories. 

In his free time, Geir likes to play video games, watch football, play golf and participate in his softball league in the summer, working out, and hanging out with friends and family. He also really loves fast and sporty cars!
